Abstract

White grubs cause serious damage to teak seedlings in many nurseries. The damage is usually noticed only when the roots have already been eaten up by the white grubs and the seedlings start wilting. Efficacy of two organophosphate insecticides - Phorate 10G (20g and 30g/bed) and Carbofuran 3G (75g and 100g/bed) was tested in a white grub infested teak nursery in Pokalappara at Vazhachal. Both the insecticides proved effective in preventing further damage
