Abstract

Phenological observations were made on a 3-year-old plant grown at Peechi, Kerala, India. The plant flowered in the last week of November and the fruit matured 52 days after anthesis. Berries contained one (88 percent), 2 (9 percent) or 3 (3 percent) seeds. Seeds were either spherical (81 percent) or hemispherical (19 percent) . At 15 percent moisture content, 14 029 seeds weighed one kg
