Medicinal Plants

The medicinal plant garden of the Institute at Peechi campus occupied in 0.6 Ha. The garden was established in 1979 with objectives of conservation, education and extension activities.

At present, around 370 species of live collections maintained. The garden is visited by students, researchers, and the public.

The plant collection is enriched by bringing new plants explored from the wild and from cultivation. Up keeping and maintenance, enrichment of existing collection, development of propagation methods of red-listed medicinal plants, etc. are the major activities focused in the garden.
