Taxonomic descriptions of l8 species of rattans found in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are provided with colour photographs. Eleven species belonging to three genera are reported to be endemic to this area. Distribution, phenology and uses of these rattans are also described. The information provided in the book will be useful to students and teachers of botany, forest managers, furniture industries, handicrafts manufacturers and traders.
