It is interesting to note that 95 percent of organisms are invertebrates and out of the 1.4 million species of invertebraes, 75,000 are insects. Some insects are useful and some of them are colourful and attractive. In this publication 4027 species have been listed under 23 genera, which are found in Kerala. Distribution of them in Kerala is shown. References given at the end are very useful to pursue for the studies on the topic. The publication will be very useful to students and teachers of college and universities, researchers, agriculturists etc.
