Reptiles, highly adapted to a variety of environmental conditions are widely distributed. Out of the 140 genera reported from India,175 species belonging to 67 genera are reported from Western Ghats,159 species occur in Kerala. In this publication, species have been well described. Taxonomic identification, habit , habitat, distribution in Kerala and other parts of India and status are given .This publication is very useful to understand more about reptiles in Kerala.
