This book is a collection of papers presented in the International Symposium conducted as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of KFRI. The papers are arranged under three major themes -natural forests and biodiversity, plantation forestry and, forests and people. In total, there are 46 papers distributed among the above three themes. The recommendations of the Symposium are also included to draw attention of the policy makers. A number of renowned authors have contributed to this valuable work, which will be a useful reference material for professional foresters, students of forestry and researchers in tropical countries.
