Dr. G. E. Mallikarjuna Swamy has a specialisation in Mycology and Forest Pathology. He is the Principal Scientist of the Department of Forest Pathology and the Scientist in charge of the KFRI Sub Centre, Teak Museum and Bioresources Nature Park, Nilambur. Currently, he is involved in the ex-situ conservation of threatened and endemic species, the establishment of germplasm of commercially important bamboo species, the enrichment of Teak Museum, and the enrichment of Bio-Resources Nature Park. Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamy is a member of many National and International Societies for Fungal Conservation, Mycology and Plant Pathology and a reviewer of national and international journals in Agricultural Science, Environment, Mycology, Biodiversity and Plant Pathology.
