Dr. Suma Arun Dev is a researcher holding a doctoral degree with over twenty-two years of postdoctoral experience in forest genetics and molecular biology. Her research expertise spans population genomics, adaptive genetics, and transcriptomics of forest tree species. She is well-versed in the use of genome-wide markers for molecular characterization, population genetics, and productivity enhancement, as well as molecular phylogeny and evolutionary studies. She has demonstrated proficiency in the conservation genetics of rare, endangered, and threatened (RET) species and in DNA barcoding for biosystematics and species authentication. Dr. Dev is actively involved in developing molecular tools for timber forensics, traceability, and origin studies, thereby contributing to sustainable forestry and biodiversity conservation.
