Soil Science

The Soil Science Laboratory is attached to the Soil Science Department under the Sustainable Forest Management Division and has been functional since 1978. The soil Science Laboratory plays a crucial role in providing soil testing and manuring/amelioration recommendations to various departments.

In addition to general routine soil nutrient analysis, the laboratory also runs specific analytical procedures on demand. The facility is equipped with a pH meter, conductivity meter, flame photometer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, digestion, titration, wet sieving, soil moisture probe, penetrometer, etc.

This laboratory offers few opportunities for internships.
