Successfully wrapped up the World Bamboo Day 2026 celebrations at KSCSTE - KFRI today
We had a highly engaging and informative event dedicated to bamboo conservation and its sustainable future.
The program was inaugurated by Pananchery Panchayath President Smt. Minu Varghese, who also led the sapling distribution. Dr. V. B. Sreekumar (Senior Principal Scientist, KFRI) delivered the welcome address and presided over the function.
Pananchery Panchayath members Sri. K.K. Subramanian and Jolly George addressed the gathering with their felicitations.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri. Arun V.R. (Scientist, KFRI).
This was followed by excellent technical sessions:
🔹 Dr. V. B. Sreekumar took the first class, detailing the ecological significance of bamboo.
🔹 Sri. Jibi P. O. (Field Staff, KFRI) led a highly practical session on 'Bamboo Nursery Management and Planting Methods'.
A huge thank you to all the dignitaries, participants, and nature enthusiasts who joined us and made this event a grand success.
