Training Program on Fundamentals of GIS & Remote Sensing

Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI)
successfully concluded its 10th Five-Day Hands-on Training Program on Fundamentals of GIS & Remote Sensing, organized as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of KFRI, from 18โ22 August 2025 at Dalbergia Hall, Silver Jubilee Building, Peechi.
The workshop, designed exclusively for beginners, offered practical training in GIS and Remote Sensing software, including ArcMap, QGIS, Google Earth Pro, and others. Dr. K. A. Sreejith, Principal Scientist, served as the Course Coordinator, and the sessions were led by Ms. Kavya Prabhakar.
The valedictory session witnessed the distribution of certificates to participants, in the presence of Dr. Kannan C. S. Warrier, Director of KFRI, and Colonel Johnson Thomas, Registrar of KFRI. Research scholars, professionals, and students from various universities and institutions across Kerala and beyond actively participated, making the workshop a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing and skill development.
