Inception Workshop @ KFRI
The Inception Workshop of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) supported project – Science, Technology, and Innovation Hub for Empowering Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups in Kerala was successfully organized at Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) on 29–30 September 2025.
The workshop brought together diverse voices – experts who have studied indigenous communities in Kerala, representatives from government and non-governmental institutions working on tribal concerns, and most importantly, members of the Cholanaiyikka and Kadar communities.
The project plan was presented, discussed, and critically examined with the aim of ensuring that it truly reflects the aspirations, knowledge systems, and well-being of the communities it seeks to empower.
This collaborative effort marks the beginning of a journey towards sustainable, community-driven innovation and empowerment for Kerala’s Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups.
