Inauguration of Thrissur Zoological Park Puthoor
The Thrissur Zoological Park at Puthoor was
inaugurated today, 28 October 2025, in a grand ceremony attended by dignitaries, officials, and scientists from various institutions.
The Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Peechi, contributed to the afforestation and ecological development works of the park, supporting its vision of promoting sustainability, biodiversity, and wildlife conservation.During the ceremony, Dr. Sujanapal P, Principal Scientist, KFRI received a memento on behalf of the Institute.
Dr. Kannan C. S. Warrier, Director, KFRI and Col. Johnson Thomas, Registrar, represented KFRI at the event.
KFRI is proud to be part of this landmark initiative that enhances wildlife conservation, habitat enrichment, and environmental awareness in Kerala.
