Fostering Forestry Research: Tripura Forest Department Visits KFRI
We were highly privileged to host a distinguished delegation from the Tripura Forest Department over the past two days for an interactive visit and knowledge exchange.
The visiting delegation included Dr. Wangdup Bhutia, IFS (CEO & Project Director, ELEMENT project, Government of Tripura), Shri Amalendu Debnath, IFS (Director, ELEMENT Project), and Mr. Peeyush Sekhsaria (Consultant, World Bank).
Yesterday, the team had a fruitful meeting with our Director, Dr. Kannan C. S. Warrier. Following the discussion, they toured our Headquarters, interacting with scientists across various divisions to get a comprehensive understanding of our laboratory facilities and research methodologies.
Continuing their visit today, the team headed to the field to explore the KFRI Field Research Centre (FRC) at Palappilly. They also visited the Palappilly watershed area to observe our practical field-level interventions and ecosystem management practices.
We are honored to share our expertise and wish the Government of Tripura the very best in their upcoming forestry research endeavors.
