Three-day training program  on  Landslide Risk Management and Mitigation Strategies at KFRI

The inaugural session of the three-day training program for Group A/Class I Officers funded by The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) on “Landslide Risk Management and Mitigation Strategies” was successfully held today at KSCSTE–Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Peechi.
The session commenced with a Welcome Address and Course Briefing by Dr. A. V. Raghu, Training Associate, KFRI. This was followed by self-introductions by the participating officers and resource persons.
Dr. Kannan C. S. Warrier, Director, KFRI, delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the importance of scientific approaches in managing landslide risks in Kerala’s fragile ecosystems.
The program was formally inaugurated by Shri. Pramod G. Krishnan, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration) & Chief Wildlife Warden, Kerala, who highlighted the need for inter-departmental collaboration and capacity building in disaster risk management.
Mr. Arun V. R., Scientist B & Training Coordinator, KFRI, elaborated on the objectives and structure of the training program, outlining the sessions, field visits, and expected outcomes for the participants.
The inaugural session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sandeep S., Principal Scientist, KFRI, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their support and active involvement.
