We are proud to kick off the three-day training program titled "Empowering Range Forest Officers: Strategies for Forest Land Conservation & Regulatory Frameworks" today at the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Peechi funded by MOEF&CC
Designed specifically for Class II/III Officers, this program runs from 13-15 January 2026 and focuses on equipping our frontline officers with the latest legal and conservation strategies.
The inaugural session commenced with a welcome note by Training Coordinator Mr. Arun VR, followed by a briefing on the program by Dr. A. V. Raghu. The session was inaugurated by Dr. Pramod G Krishnan IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration) & Chief Wildlife Warden, who delivered the Keynote Address.
The function was presided over by Dr. Kannan C. S. Warrier, Director, KFRI and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. V. B. Sreekumar.
The technical sessions featured insightful lectures, commencing with a presentation on "Forests across decades" by Dr. T. V. Sajeev, Chief Scientist at KFRI. This was followed by a session on "Enhancing Organic Cultivation Opportunities in Kerala Tribal Lands: A Focus on QCI Certification for Crops," delivered by Dr. A. V. Raghu, Principal Scientist & Head of the Extension and Training Division. The day concluded with an engaging campus visit where participants explored the KFRI Seed Centre, Wildlife Museum, and Xylarium.
The program will conclude on January 15th with a Valedictory Session featuring Mr. B. N. Nagaraj IFS, Director, Thrissur Zoological Park.
