Dr. K.M. Bhat Commemorated
Dr. K.M. Bhat Memorial function and distribution of the Award for the year 2023 was held on the 3rd January 2024. Dr. C. Kunhikannan, Director, Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest of this function.
On the occasion, Dr. Kunhikannan presented a Lecture titled "The Reclamation and Rehabilitation of Degraded Sites- A Myth or Reality?". In his presentation, Dr. Kunhikannan highlighted the successful restoration efforts undertaken in the mined areas of three districts in Karnataka.
As a part of the ceremony, Dr. Kunhikannan distributed the Dr. K.M. Bhat Memorial Award for the best Ph.D. Thesis of 2023 to Dr. Swathi Balakrishnan, a researcher in the Biotechnology Department of KFRI.
