As part of the Induction Training Programme for 16 newly appointed Junior Hydrogeologists and Geological Assistants of the Groundwater Department, Kerala, a specialised session on “Hydrology of Small Watersheds” was conducted on June 20, 2025, at RDPC, Ernakulam.
Dr. Pawan Wable, a Scientist at KFRI, led an insightful session that covered watershed characteristics, water balance, green and blue water concepts, and the application of modern tools for watershed management. His talk was enriched with real-world case studies, offering practical insights into hydrological planning.
Adding further value, Mrs. Surabhi C., Project Assistant, Department of Soil Science, demonstrated the application of CWRDM’s guidelines for Panchayat-level water budgeting, emphasising the practical aspects of decentralised water resource management.
