The National Workshop on Insect Taxonomy and Entrepreneurship, organized by KFRI, in collaboration with the Prof. T.C. Narendran Trust for Animal Taxonomy and the Department of Zoology, University of Calicut, concluded on a high note on 17th May 2025.Over the past four days, participants received in-depth training in insect taxonomy, learning to identify major insect orders such as Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, and Hymenoptera under the guidance of some of India’s leading taxonomists Dr KD Prathapan (KAU), Dr K Rajmohan (ZSI Kolkata), Dr Girish Kumar P (ZSI Kozhikode) and Dr Kalesh Sadasivan (TNHS)

 

The workshop also explored emerging entrepreneurial pathways in entomology, empowering participants to look beyond academia and contribute to biodiversity conservation, pest management, and ecological entrepreneurship.
