KFRI Participation in Vanamahotsava 2025 at Christ College

As part of the Van Mahotsav 2025 celebrations, the Peechi Wildlife Division organised a special awareness program at Christ College, Irinjalakuda. The highlight of the event was an engaging lecture on "Ecology and Wildlife Conservation" delivered by Dr. Rajan Pilakandy, Scientist-B at the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI).

Dr. Rajan  Pilakandy shed light on the critical importance of conserving ecosystems and biodiversity in the face of climate change, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflict. His talk emphasised the interconnectedness of ecological systems and the urgent need for collaborative conservation efforts.

The event saw active participation from students, educators, and forest officials, reflecting a growing commitment to environmental stewardship among young people. Van Mahotsav, celebrated annually across India, aims to raise awareness about the importance of trees and forest ecosystems in maintaining ecological balance. KFRI is proud to contribute to initiatives that raise awareness and inspire the next generation to protect our natural heritage.
