Dr. M. Bheemalingappa obtained his Ph.D. in Botany from Sri Krishnadeveraya University Anantapur Andhra Pradesh, focused on the “Diversity Quantitative Assessment and Conservation of Trees of Baratang Island Andaman Islands India”. With 11 years of teaching and 7 years of research experience, he specialises in plant taxonomy, biodiversity conservation and the plantation of indigenous plant species. His research primarily explores the systematics and conservation of economically and ecologically important plant species, particularly in the Western Ghats of Kerala and Andaman Islands. He has published one book and 17 research papers in reputed National and International journals. He possesses extensive field expertise in plant identification, herbarium management, and field-based biodiversity assessments, and he has contributed significantly to floristic and conservation studies.
